Today we were joined on the boat by our
good friends from Kona, Captains Brian and Deneen Wargo
from Bite Me Sportfishing Charters. Brian also happens to
be a “Boggy” from Niceville High School. Brian and Deneen
are world class fishermen and have a wealth of knowledge
in all things sportfishing. It was liking going to fishing
school having them on the boat. They helped us with tons
of ideas and tips to take the “Va Pue” to the next level.
Today Brian and Deneen taught us how to rig mackerel for
trolling. We rigged up this sweet bait and then sent it
out at wahoo mountain to see what would happen. The
mackerel was skipping on the surface so lifelike we could
not believe it. We were all staring at it when it got
destroyed by a smoker hoo on the surface. Randy fought the
beast to the boat and then I got to take some raps on the
leader since we put a 20ft leader on it. It didn’t jerk me
out of the boat and we landed the hog! Oh, did I mention
we caught some super fun waves before we went out fishing?
A huge thanks to Brian and Deneen for all the help and we
hope to see you guys down again “reel” soon! SUBU!!!!!
