Captain’s Log: Entry

This week we had our good friend Dr. Cliff
Clark and his son Morgan down with us on a charter. Cliff
is brother of the notorious Capt. Steve “Slack” Clark who
you may remember from the “Day of Days” at wahoo mountain
(14 in one day!). Slack has been coming down for years and
is a hard core fish slayer. He actually holds the
unofficial 10lb line class record for snook, with a fish
he caught in Astillero that was over 40lbs. Well anyway,
the Clarks have something in their blood for big fish.
Morgan could not be outdone by his uncle, so he decided to
catch the unofficial Junior all-tackle world record for
Cero Mackeral. The all-tackle record is 17.2 lbs, so I am
pretty sure that this fish, which weighed a hair under 16
lb, is the biggest caught by a Junior angler. I weighed
the fish on three scales and it was just shy of 16 lbs on
all three. This stands as the current Surfari Record. Oh
yeah, Cliff and Morgan also got some sick waves as well!
Yeah!!!! SUBU!!!!
