After such a great day of fishing yesterday, I knew we had to get out again today. Unfortunately when we got to the wahoo spot the water was green and unfishable. I pushed out another 6 miles until we hit the jackpot. The color change was amazing, on one side green and on the other a deep cobalt blue. Three frigates were working the zone and I knew it was game on! We had our good buddy Tony from the Surf Sanctuary with us as well as our good freind Dave. As soon as we got the spread out, a small mackeral hit the shotgun. We let Tony reel it in, but about half way, Tony realized he didn't level wind and had backlashed the reel. At that same instant, the left rigger got nailed by a nice dolphin, and I told Tony to take that one while worked out the backlash. While letting out the backlash, I realized the line speeding up off the reel. To my amazement a studly bull inhaled the mackeral, and now I was battling a 33 lb Dolphin. We landed those and then went on to take down one of our nicest catches of Dolphin to date.
