| Playa Santana Torneo de Surf This weekend was the surfing tournament at Santana. It was the second event in the new national circuit that we are putting together. It turned out to be a great event. Waves were fun and the turn out was killer. Special thanks to Ricardo and Baldo for doing a kick ass job organizing and planning the event. The final in the National division had Luis and Augusto Chamorro from San Juan del Sur, Mario Martinez from Santana, and our man "gnarly marley" Norling Narvaez from Astillero (first mate of the Va Pue). Luis took first place in Nationals. In Juniors, Rex Calderon won with style and power that is years ahead of his age. In the Open International division, I edged out JJ on first peak to take the 1st place trophy back to the Surfari Bar. Check out Jimmy spraying beer all over me and the Mayor of Tola! She was a good sport and didn’t even freak out with Tona all over her!! The new National circuit should see many more good things to come. |
