| Astillero Surf Contest Success! For the first time ever, Astillero hosted a Saturday/Sunday contest for the Nicaragua Surf Circuit, and it went off without a hitch...well pretty much. Aside from a heavy rain Saturday night that nearly took down the judges tent, all was well! Check out these photos from Erin "EBO" O'Kon who was present and working hard as usual to document the action throughout the day. Lance, killing it as usual, found mostly lefts to get him through his heats, but also scraped up a few rights to demolish, landing him in 4th place overall. Brodie had a hard time finding the heat winners on day 2 of the finals, but did some major damage to the waves he did pick. Maite de la Torre with a backside hack charged into 1st for the womens division. EBO with a few good wave choices and some big lefts like these, made it to the finals and nabbed 3rd place to take home some hardware for Surfari. Lastly, some of the local boys showing us how much they've all improved, as they gave everyone a run for their money throughout the 2 day event. Thanks to Baldo and Tony for running a smooth event and making the whole surf circuit happen this year!! |
